Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to invite you to the 1st Antimicrobial Stewardship Symposium & Workshop on Prevention and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections, which will be organized for the first time in Gaziantep between May 28-30, 2025, in collaboration with the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections Study Group (AYSEK SG) of the Society for the Clinical Microbiologists of Türkiye (KLIMUD) and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Study Group (ESGAP) of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).

The 1st Antimicrobial Stewardship Symposium & Workshop on Prevention and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections, which will be organized in collaboration between local experts and microbiologists, pharmacists and clinicians across the globe with experts in their respective fields, aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of infection control and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) within hospital and community settings.

During three days, the symposium and workshop will feature expert-led sessions on traditional and rapid diagnostics, the role of pharmacists, molecular epidemiology, legal aspects of AMS, and infection control strategies. Interactive parts such as case presentations will complement the theoretical knowledge. This symposium and workshop event is designed to enhance participants' skills in implementing effective AMS programs and understanding the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques and infection control practices.

In the remaining time of the program, which we believe will be scientifically full, we will take a break in our gastroarchaeology tours from gastronomy to archaeology in our ancient city of Gaziantep, located at the intersection of Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean, and gain enjoyable moments, memories and friendships.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support to our symposium, which will come to life with your participation, and we hope to meet you in the colorful Gaziantep in the spring.

Best regards,

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Sezer CİRİT
